Although this is the most crowded primary, with seven candidates, one clearly stands out. Scott Taylor appears well qualified to handle the wide variety of budget, infrastructure, crime and economic development challenges facing the city.
Taylor, a lawyer, has served capably on the board of the Center School District, helping it improve educational programs in tight financial times. At campaign forums, he has a good command of the city’s fiscal challenges. That’s not surprising: His wife, Cathy Jolly, now holds the seat but decided not to run for re-election. The council can use a hard worker who doesn’t have to be the star of the show, and Taylor fits that job description. Read full article
